I embrace you 2012! A world filled with possibilities… all FRESH and new! My word for 2012… you guessed it! It is FRESH! FRESH, as in – new, starting over, clean slate, not previously known, novel, bright, clean… brand new! I have a new lease on life, so to speak. I will make 2012 the year of FRESH… it’s in my DNA this year. I crave it. I am on my way! Want to join me? Let the adventure begin…

And I can’t go without a quick photo, too. We celebrated our anniversary yesterday… by going to a favorite park and taking some photos together. Here you go… the mister and me.
Anniversary pix... My mister and me.
Have an epic 2012. I wish you all good health, happiness, prosperity, and all things FRESH and new! Thanks for stopping by today! xoxo ~Amy Tara~
I am happy to see this year go. Honestly, it started out with lots of good things to look forward to that I wanted to SAVOR (my word for 2011) and I did savor those moments. But overall, 2011 sucked… big time! I am so ready for 2012… a new year filled with new hopes, dreams, possibilities, and adventures. I’m sorry to be a debbie-downer today, but I can’t even tell you how 2011 kicked my butt! Plain and simple, it sucked.
With that said, I do wish my DH a happy anniversary today, I know you and I both feel the same way about 2011 and will be celebrating our day today in a quiet, relaxed, manner. We have had a tough year, we’ve weathered it with a lot of rough edges, tattered and torn. But we’re here today, together, and we will embrace and celebrate what we have overcome this year. I love you. Really, does anything else matter?! Happy anniversary! xoxo
Thanks for stopping by today. I’ll be back tomorrow with a bright, happy, cheerful, fresh and new post! Good things are on their way! ❤
Have a wonderful New Year's Eve!!!
Wishing you all a joyous holiday season filled with warmth, love, and happiness! Happy holidays! ~Amy Tara~
I finally used up an entire SC kit… Handmade. YAY me!!! It was the November kit. I posted one of the layouts from the kit in my last post… the one about Nate. Here are the rest.
A layout about Phillip, my middle son ❤
Logan picking our pumpkin for this year.
Some photos from parent weekend at Stetson
Nate and Deena, photos taken on Thanksgiving day.
I have some more layouts from this kit but they still need to be photographed. I’ll post them when that is done. I used Becky Fleck Pagemaps sketches for some of my pages this month. It was helpful because, honestly, I was not loving this kit. It seems that I love SC kits about every 3-4 months. The rest, meh, they are okay. My favorites this year were Lawn Party, Boardwalk, and the one from June which had the OA outer space related line in it ( sorry, I can’t remember the names). I’m so looking forward to having time off for the holidays. I decided that I’m going to use my December kit to do the project 12 (that Davinie runs) with that kit. I printed all my photos for all 12 months so I will be ready to start on Friday. Since I am off for 12 days, I plan to complete one layout per day. Wish me luck… you know what they say about the best laid plans of mice and men. Ha!
Thanks for stopping by today. Have a wonderful Wednesday! ~Amy Tara~
I’ve had a little bit of time to work on some layouts. I love scrappy afternoons when I have an opportunity to create with paper. It makes me happy!
This is a page I created about a visit with my cousin Barry and his daughter Staci (and her little girl.) We hadn’t seen each other in years. It was so special to reconnect with them. I used Crate Paper Random collection products with some Webster’s Pages tulle, K&Co. butterflies, and Prima bling. The letter stickers and chipboard are from Basic Grey.
Here’s a little close-up of some of the details.
I created this next page using my November Studio Calico kit. I’ve been a subber for almost two years and this is the first time I have actually used every bit from a kit. I used some Pagemaps sketches for some of my pages. However, this one is not from a sketch. I just love the blue/green paper. I think it is one of the papers in a Crate holiday collection.
This is Nate hanging out in the coffee house at Stetson University. We were there for family weekend. We had a little down time so we sat in the comfy chairs to relax for a bit. My son is so interesting. I always have wonderful conversations with him. I added a few little bits I had lying around that were not from the kit. The white spatters were made with Mr. Huey white… I.LOVE.THIS.STUFF!!!
The chipboard letters are from AC… I LOVE these letters. I probably would not have purchased them on my own so I am thrilled they were in the kit. That is one of the great aspects of being a part of a kit club… you get products you wouldn’t normally purchase on your own so it expands the variety and challenges you creatively.
I’ll have more to share during the week. Four more days until we get to break for the holiday vacation. Logan is already home. Phillip moved back home after Thanksgiving. We will spend Christmas day with Deena (Nate’s gal) and her family at their home. I’m sooo looking forward to being with my family and relaxing for the week that we are off.
Happy rest of the weekend! Thanks for stopping by! ~Amy Tara~
Oh my! I can’t believe how fast this year has flown by. Seriously, it has been a whirlwind. So much has happened in 2011. And here we are in the very last month…
Thanksgiving was super awesome! LOVE having my family around, the awesome food and how good the house smells, and the beauty and warmth from the decor. Now, I’m sad to see it’s over… so I’m already planning for next year. Collecting my ideas and putting together my color scheme.
This is my family on Thanksgiving…. love love love, crazy love, them all!!!
Phil, Logan, Nate, Grandma Lynn, Jay, Grandpa Don, and Amy (me)
With T-day over I am trying to decide what I want to do for decorating for the winter season. We don’t really celebrate any of the December holidays so I am thinking I will do whites and silvers and keep it snowflake -ish related. Sparkly and fun. Still mulling over my ideas. I’m loving Keisha Campbell’s blog. Love her decorating ideas. She has a snowflake garland she just posted that I am very inspired by. I may have to make one for my home. Check it out. Her blog is nothing short of amazing!
Have a wonderful day! Thanks for popping by. ~Amy Tara~
When I give thanks today, YOU will be included in my list of what I am thankful for. May you and your family have blessings in abundance! Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy Turkey Day!!!!!!
Enjoy!!! ~Amy Tara~
I’m so excited for Thanksgiving! My boys will all be home on Wednesday night. I’ve got all the food shopping done. I’ve got most of the house cleaned and ready. I’ve even ironed all of my table linens already… that’s a first! CAN NOT WAIT!!!
Thought I would share my invitation with you. I cloned out a bit of the information, like home address and phone number… but the rest is as is. I love the quote I found for this invite. In case you can read it from the photo is says: We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our of our treasures. Thornton Wilder. Isn’t it a beautiful quote. And so very true! Have I told you lately… I. LOVE.THANKSGIVING!!!!!!!
For my invite I used the glorious Crate Paper Farmhouse Collection papers, MME burlap trim, and my Fiskars acorn punch. Love that punch. I only wish I could get it in several sizes!
Thanks for stopping by. I hope your Thanksgiving season is full of blessings! ~Amy Tara~
Basic Grey just released their newest line. KISSING BOOTH. I love it! There are a few papers in the line that are so divine, I can’t wait to get this collection! In particular I LOVE the big colorful floral paper and the bird paper. Can’t wait. Here is a sample of the collection.
Kissing Booth... LOVE!
Like I said, I cannot wait to get this collection!
Happy weekend! ~Amy Tara~
We had such a fabulous weekend at Stetson University. It was family and friends weekend there. We spent time with Logan, met his friends, toured the campus, went to a wonderful orchestra concert, and walked around the downtown Deland area. We had dinner on Friday night at a greek restaurant that was absolutely delish! The restaurant is called Santorini’s; visit it if you happen to find yourself in Deland. You won’t be sorry! Nate came on Saturday so that was an added bonus for us! I love being with my boys… can’t get enough of them! We really missed Phillip. My weekend would have been truly complete if he had been able to join us. The campus was absolutely beautiful, as it always is. Here are a few pix from our weekend.
Jamma, Logan, Jogzy, and Jerry
Jerry is Logan’s roommate. Jammal and Jogzy are friends from his dorm and also from the fraternity that Logan joined.
Mom, Logan, and Nate
This photo was taken outside of Logan’s dorm, Gordis Hall. I was so grateful and happy that Nate was able to come for the day, too.

On Saturday there was a barbeque outside in the commons area for everyone. There were games set up, like croquet, corn hole, and badminton. Some of the Stetson SGA members dressed in Halloween costumes and handed out candy. It was really nice, even though the weather wasn’t the best. We even had the chance to play corn hole. It was fun!
On Sunday morning we got to the campus fairly early so I had an opportunity to walk around and take photos of the campus. I will post some of those in my next blog update.
All in all, it was a GREAT weekend. After all, nothing matters more than family… so any opportunity to be together is always tops in my book.
Have a wonderful Halloween! Thanks for stopping by. ~Amy Tara~
