I’ve got fall fever! Yesterday I spent the day shopping around for a few items to add to my fall decorations. Today I am going to clean the house and start putting the fall goodies in place! I love this time of year because I the humidity and heat start subsiding just a bit and I know we only have another month or so until we can shut the air conditioning off! I love the colors of the decorations and even though the outside is still sunny/tropical, no leaf changes etc… I don’t care. Inside, it feels like fall! I found a few really cool pumpkins at HomeGoods and a pumpkin platter that I just absolutely LOVE! I probably won’t use it for Thanksgiving serving but rather keep it on display. Seriously, it’s my new favorite piece. When I get everything done and set up I’ll take a few pix and post them here.
I have a layout and cool technique to share with you today. I used the Webster’s Pages Nature’s Storybook collection, except the base paper is from the Winter’s Wings collection. I took some of the vellum and cut it into very thin little strips then curled it with the wrong side of my exacto knife, just like you would do curling ribbon when wrapping a gift. I added these little curls in with my flowers/leaves etc. I am really loving how it turned out. What do you think?

I love working with lots of different patterned papers. I’ve been thinking of ways to pare down my stash and streamline my stuff. My go-to’s are usually BG and WP. I also love Collage Press, Graphic 45, and MME. They are the easiest for me to work with. I acquire some of the other products at times and then they seem to sit there because I just seem to go for these 5 manufacturers most of the time. It’s not that I don’t love some of the other stuff, it just doesn’t get used as much. So, my question… should I sell some stuff on ebay or etsy. Is there some other where/way else to sell it? I’m open for suggestions… so if you feel like it, share with me what you think?!
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you have a magnificent Monday! ~Amy Tara~

Amy, this is just gorgeous. I need to come back and look again at this handsome LO! And that technique (curling) is totally awesome!

Comment by Danielle September 21, 2009 @ 1:02 pmI love the layout. The collage of flowers, pearls, leaves and birds seems to be the ‘rage’ right now. The curls are a lovely touch. As for the paper and selling it, I could never part with anything in my scrapbook room as I just found a use for BG paper that I bought a couple years ago but never knew what do with it as the pattern was very loud. After learning new techniques from 2peas, I finally used the paper on a LO. Great job and I have bookmarked your blog and cant wait to see more great stuff!

Comment by Lynn September 21, 2009 @ 5:52 pmAbsolutely STUNNING! You seriously rock the WP!! As far as selling stuff…I sell at my LSS yard sale. We have to pay an initial fee and then they take a % of the sales, but the remainder is given to you in store credit and they take care of the rest (tagging, selling etc). If you have an LSS that doesnt already do that, you might recommend it because I think the store does really well. The yard sales are crazy crowded and people definitely buy from the store while they are in there shopping for yard sale stuff.

I love your page! You do such fabulous design work all the time!
Very anxious to see your Fall decorations! I Love this time of the year too… very much!
As for selling scrap stuff… did you ever have your own yard/garage sale and advertise scrapbooking stuff? I do this most every year and I usually sell out of all most all my scrapping selections way early! I’ll be having mine next weekend but I don’t seem to have as much scrap stuff as last year to weed out… mostly Stamping stuff.
Comment by Andrea Amu September 25, 2009 @ 11:55 pmYour Webster’s work is always SO gorgeous, Amy Tara! You make my jaw drop every time. I love the vellum curls on this page. What a beautiful and creative use for it.
Comment by audreypettit September 26, 2009 @ 1:55 amI might recommend an annual yard/garage sale just for scrappy stuff, too. I’ve known people to have a lot of success at those.
wow – you do amazing work – so glad i found you!!
Comment by Brenda Hurd September 29, 2009 @ 2:11 amYour work and details are perfection. you have such a creative sense.
I too have the same problem, but usually keep my paper for a while and try and mix them up for a creative edge on my layouts.
If you have determined that you will not use it and want to purge, I have had success at a garage sale. Some time scrapbook stores have an sale your stash day. But I must admit I am not a ood garage seller.
I also find it fun to just give a gift to some one out of the blue. I package in the mail is still a welcome site for any of us. What is that surprise???
Lucy and I had a great time packing up some of our excess papers and creating collections for prizes on the blog.
I tend to sell stuff and turn around and just buy more, so some times giving it away is a bigger blessing.
Contiue to have fun, love life and create. Glad Lucy and I were able to meet you at CHA. – Gayle
