All in all my favorite part was meeting my online scrappy friends.  Brandin, Terri, Anabelle, Charity, Norma, Lucy, and Susan were all just as sweet as can be and meeting them just left me wanting more time to hang out with them!  Overall I was disappointed in the show.  I saw very little that  took my breath away.  It was very watered down, tiny compared to the last show I went to about four years ago, and product was eh.  I’m sure the manufacturers all played it safe this time.  EVERYONE seems to have a halloween line this year.  There was very little, if anything, for Thanksgiving.  Seems like everyone kinda skipped over that one.  There were a few fall lines that could be used for Thanksgiving, but nothing really jumped out at me.  Since Thanksgiving is my holiday, I was really hoping to find something I couldn’t live without, for my decorations, invites, goody bags etc.  There seemed to be a serious lack of product that was MASCULINE.   Seriously, everything seemed super girly to me.  One of these days someone needs to design a masculine line for older boys and men that isn’t centered on tatoo-ish, grungy, or cutesy stuff.  Just a nice traditional masculine line would be really great.    I read on someone else’s blog that they thought CHA had a weird vibe to it.  I thought that too and was glad to read that someone else felt that way as well.  I know the economy sucks and the scrap industry seems to be in a weird place… I hope it all turns around for the better.

That’s my take on CHA.  Hope you have a superb day!  ~Amy Tara~

And finally, we had a 65th birthday party for Lynn (my step mom) a few weeks ago.  I made party favors for everyone.  Little tussy mussy’s (I love these things!) filled with some glitter coated leaves and candies.  Everyone loved them… whew!

I had won a RAK from Anabelle of some Bo Bunny Love Shack products and used it up making these.  I love that collection.  The colors are so awesome.

CHA is Tuesday in Orlando… YAY for me, I get to attend!!!  I’m so psyched because I haven’t been since it was last in Atlanta.  I’m going to have the chance to meet some of my wonderful online friends.  AND see all the new product up close and personal… woo hoo!!!

Speaking of which… I must share this with you… new Webster’s Pages lines.  They are really TO DIE FOR. Seriously, these are without a doubt, my most favorite releases I’ve seen so far.  And this is not because I am on their DT.  Here’s a little glimpse of each line.

I’ve been busy busy busy with new product for CHA… so in the meantime I thought I would share a few projects using Magical Wishes and Cherry Pie collections.  My step mom recently celebrated her 65th birthday and I made her a box with personalized notecards.  I even made the gift bag.  She loved it so I am relieved!  I never know what to get for her.

I also want to share with you the decoration I made for July 4th… even though that holiday has passed.   I used a star shaped tin for the base and BBQ skewers to hold my pinwheels and stars.

I was invited to be on the WEBSTER’S PAGES design team!!!  Yay!!!  Seriously, this IS a dream come true for me.  I am very very grateful for this opportunity, humbled and a little intimidated too.

This has been the very hardest thing I’ve ever had to keep to myself… thank god I went away for several weeks in the interim…just sayin’.  So stay tuned… I’ll be adding lots of Webster’s Pages projects in the coming weeks and months.  Have I told you lately how much I LOVE their products… yeah, well, I DO!!!!!!!!!!

And the rest of the girls on the team, including new additions of Lisa Pace and Lucy Edson, wow…  what a GREAT bunch of seriously talented ladies.  I am in AWE of all their masterful-selves.

So there you have it, my big news of the year.  When I come down from the clouds of “oh my god, I can’t believe it” I’ll start posting my WP stuff.

Smiles all!  ~Amy Tara~

Michael Jackson’s memorial service is today.  This is such a sad time for so many.  Michael was, undoubtedly, one of the very best performers ever to grace this planet.  I remember the first time I saw the Jackson 5.  I was lying on my parents bed with my sister watching the Ed Sullivan show.  I was maybe 7 or 8 at the time.  It was the Jackson 5’s debut.  I was a fan from that moment on.  Although Michael has had, so it would seem, a somewhat tortured and controversial personal life, I choose to remember him for the great gifted  entertainer he was and for the giving humanitarian he was.  I truly hope Michael finds peace and healing wherever he is right now.  May you rest in peace Michael.

We had lots of stops throughout the northeast, canadian maritimes, Quebec, and Montreal.  Each and every stop was wonderful.  LOVED this entire itinerary.
