Are you AI addicted like me? OMG, Jay and I have never really watched this show… but we can’t wait until Tuesdays now. We are totally LOVING Adam Lambert… I guess that makes us Glamberts(followers of Adam). LOL! I can’t believe myself, really and truly, such silly nonsense, and yet, I can’t wait to see him every week. He is pure fascinating entertainment. And boy can that kid SING!!!! Holy smokes!

Adam Lambert... from last night.
I can’t believe I even spend a little time voting for him. This is totally nuts! But I am having a blast! Also loving Allison. She has such a cool voice.
Now, onto scrappy stuff. I’ve had this layout for awhile and forgot to post it. I love taking pix of my inlaws. They love having their pix taken. They are so cute together. We were very grateful that they were able to be with us this past Thanksgiving. I used some of my favorite Webster’s Pages papers for this. The butterfly was cut out of one of the sheets. I wish WP had some butterfly embellies that went with their papers…. one can dream, right!?! This design is pretty simple for my usual style of layers and “over – do” I am the queen of STUFF! LOL! I love the lace I used on here, bought it at a sewing shop. So yummy!

Inlaws at Thanksgiving
WEll, that’s about it. Hope your day amazes you! ~Amy Tara~

I went to drive Logan to the bus stop this morning and couldn’t get Phillip’s car to start. Don’t know what’s wrong with it. So Phillip took my car to school and drove Logan also, since by the time I got my car out of the driveway (P’s was blocking mine) it was too late to get Logan to the bus stop. Now, I’m sure you’re wondering, why doesn’t Phillip just drive Logan to school every day. Well there are several reasons, but the primary one is that, for Logan, the bus ride is a socializing event. Logan is most certainly the social butterfly of the family! Now, what the heck is wrong with Phillip’s car?
If you’re not busy this morning at 9am or tonight at 9pm come by the Webster’s Pages Inspire Me site and participate in the live chat. I’m sure that Terri and Brandin have some fun stuff in store for us. You can find the link to the Inspire Me site on sidebar. I’ll be there this morning since I have to attend parent night at driver ed tonight with Logan… not looking forward to driver’s ed!
Do you like to shop for clothing/makeup/girly stuff? I’m so NOT a shopper. I hate going to the stores. But I desperately need a little wardrobe help so I think I might need to venture out into the world of the unknown (to me). Got any favorite places to shop? Hook me up! I must admit, I do love Lilly Pulitzer clothing but it’s so wicked expensive and I would have to go to Bloomingdales to find it. Not sure I want to go to THAT mall. I prefer to stick to the stores closer to home. How about online? Got any online store faves? I’m seeking recommendations.
I’ll leave you with a little fun layout. A few years ago Logan decided he wanted to dress up as a girl for halloween. Everytime I see this pix I totally crack up. He wore my clothing and shoes and I did his hair and makeup for him. Phillip, as usual, wanted to be some kind of ghoul. Anything to mess up your hair and put on “scary” looking makeup. It’s a boy thing! For this layout I used mostly Basic Grey Ambrosia products. I think Ambrosia is one of my all time favorite BG collections. I used lots of ink and distressing. My journaling is on the back because I had a lot to write about and didn’t want to clutter the front of the layout with it.

Halloween 2006, Logan and Phillip
I hope you have a super wonderful day. And don’t forget, if you have time, come by INSPIRE ME for the live chat! ~Amy Tara~

My baby is sweet 16 today! (is “sweet 16″ cool for a boy too?) I can’t believe it… really! I don’t know where the time has gone. He was the most precious little baby, so easy going and unfussy. He is definitely the spoiled one in the family… I guess that’s a youngest child thing. He needs a staff of 12 to get him through the day (just kidding! LOL! I’m his only staff! LOL!) It’s his Logan-ism. We laugh about it at home cause it’s just too cute/funny. He’s a really sweet boy. He is Jay’s mini-me in so many ways. He’s definitely got that Taurus the bull stubborn streak in him – which on the flip/good side is really tenaciousness (is that a word?). Logan is a brilliant student, accomplished musician, compassionate, still-cuddly – all around GREAT kid. I love the little booger to pieces. He still calls me “Honey” instead of mommy. It melts my heart every time… still! Happy Birthday my sweet (not-so-little) man. I love you bunches and bunches!

Logan at 16 years old
In honor of Logan’s birthday I’m offering a nice little RAK of things he picked out. There are several packs of rubons and some other miscellaneous stuff. So leave Logan a happy birthday wish in the comments section and he’ll draw the winning name on Sunday afternoon after we have his party.
One more little item of interest… go to Embellish It! (link in sidebar). Shelby is having a HUGE sale… lots of GREAT stuff at INCREDIBLE PRICES!!! Be sure to check it out!
I hope your day is fantabulous! ~Amy Tara~

Awhile back I found some photos from my childhood of me riding my horse Bullet. I was so excited to find that I had written on the back of one of the photos “Blite and Amy” Blite meaning Bullet… spelling for a 6-1/2 year old! SO I scanned the handwritten part and used it as the title of my page. Seriously, I don’t get too overly excited about my own pages but I have to admit I do really love this one… probably because it is such a wonderful memory of mine from childhood, more than the creative part of the page. (I hope that makes sense…LOL) I LOVE texture and dimension on my pages so I used some hemp and burlap with the wonderful Pink Paislee products. If you haven’t tried the new PP lines you really must. I am really becoming a huge PP fan.

And now some close ups of the details and journaling.

Love that horseshoe charm!

Burlap and stitching
Thanks for indulging me on this one.
Did you watch AI last night. Did anyone knock your socks off. I am such a total Adam Lambert fan that none of the other contestants do anything for me. I can’t believe I am actually really watching this show… addicted even, maybe. I can’t wait til Tuesdays so I can watch Adam… its CRAZY! I am so not a TV person… I just shake my head in bewilderment at myself! LOL I even vote for the guy! Sheesh! Jay and I are planning on going to the Idol concert… just because of Adam. I’ve downloaded every single one of his performances AND the studio versions. I just sit here and shake my head and laugh at myself. This is sooo NOT me…. but it IS! OY OY OY!
Have a great day all! ~Amy Tara~

Woke up to a downpour. Not fun. I gave Phillip the “drive extra careful” lecture about six times before the boys left for school. When I opened the front door Sammy was sitting on the porch watching the rain. Someone left the gate open yesterday, apparently. Must have been the lawn maintenance guy or the ATT guy. Not sure. Good thing it was pouring and thundering or the dog surely would have been miles away rolling in mud puddles (his usual escape M.O.) This, after a weekend of yucky stuff. Jay’s car was robbed during the night Friday. They took some change, phone charger, Ipod, Sunpass, etc. Yes, the stuff costs money but it is only stuff. The violation of someone being on our property in the middle of the night going through our cars totally creeps me out. The police said there has been a huge increase in these types of incidents in the past few months. Oh great, something else to worry about. I’m just glad we got an alarm system for the house so at least I feel somewhat protected. AND to make matters worse, for two days we didn’t have phone/tv/internet. ATT is doing some newfangled fiber optics nonsense in our neighborhood and that meant we had no service while they worked. I had no idea they even worked on Sundays. It totally sucked. I missed a deadline for a project because I couldn’t email it. The good news is, supposedly this new system will be much better/faster/cooler/cheaper than anything we’ve had in the past. We shall see.
On a good note, my friend Shelby had her baby boy. Crew Peyton. Isn’t that a sweet name. SO unique. I love it. I saw pix on her blog. She looks great and the baby is so adorable. What a beautiful family! Shelby owns the BEST on-line store for scrappy stuff. They offer the best, fastest and most comprehensive customer service. AND they get the Basic Grey products first, before any other store. (now I only need to convince Shelby that she NEEDS to carry Webster’s Pages!) You will see Embellish It! on the side bar. Click on it and go for a visit. You will love it there!
I’m totally loving the new Pink Paislee collections and Webster’s Pages collections(WP is my very fave). One of these days I will share those projects with you. And I can’t wait for the new Collage Press (especially Knave of Hearts) and October Afternoon (especially travel) collections. What are you excited about?
I’ll leave you with a layout I did a few weeks ago. I used Graphic 45 papers for this and other random stuff. See those wood-tone letters. Pink Paislee. One of my new FAVE products. I love the wood look and the size and the font. Aren’t they cool! I inked the edges and coated them with Diamond Glaze so they have some dimension. I LOVE DG. I use it on almost every layout.

Apples & Honey for a Sweet New Year
So I guess that’s it for today. I hope your day is filled with all things happy and fun!

My favorite magazine, Somerset Memories, is going to be a semi-annual publication from now on instead of the bimonthly it was. I am sooo saddened by this because it is my very favorite crafty mag of them all. Actually, I LOVE ALL the Stampinton companies publications. At least they are not ceasing publication totally. That’s a good thing, right!
This layout is in their most recent issue (ap/may). I just found it at B&N yesterday. I’m not too keen on my own pix/layouts but this was something I wanted to document for myself. Most of the product used on here is from Making Memories. I just LOVE that damask pattern. It is one of my all time ever favorite sheets of paper. I still have one sheet of it left that I am saving for something special (don’t know what though! LOL)

If Only...
Today, it is COLD again…. BLECH!!! Where is my heat?????
Oh yeah, and did you see American Idol last night… holy smokes!!!!!!! I am not an AI fan per se, but I’ve been watching this year because I just LOVE that ADAM LAMBERT. OMG is he ever talented! I sooo loved what he did last night. It was magnificent. You must try and see it if you didn’t. Mesmerizing and riveting… from the voice to the music/composition to the lighting/staging… so well thought out. Good grief this guy is sooo way out talented. I’ve heard people say he is the best they’ve ever had on AI – EVER. And Simon even gave him a standing O. Can’t beat that! I also love Allison. She has such an amazing cool voice. The song she picked last night was perfect for her. As far as I’m concerned other than Danny Gokey, the rest can all go home. None of them has really impressed me.
Well, that’s it for today. I hope your day is filled with love and kindness! ~Amy Tara~

Okay this is just a quickie… I’m bouncing off the walls excited because someone just made my day (or more like my year!). I can’t tell you exactly what it is yet… it will be a couple of months before I can shout it out…but I am flying crazy excited right now! Someone pinch me… I am DREAMING! It’s a scrappy related bucket list item of mine… Oh gosh I can’t wait! (sorry I am such a tease today. I am just THAT excited!)
Have a FABULOUS Friday too! ~Amy Tara~

I’m on spring break this week and it seems I can’t keep track of the days. I keep thinking it’s a day ahead of where we really are. I woke up this morning thinking “oh yay… tomorrow’s Saturday!” LOL! Not that it makes a difference this week cause I’ve been home all week. Silly nonsense, I know.
I’m trying to get a bunch of scrapping done while I’m home. I’m working on some pages for a client, some sample pages for an on-line scrappy store , and some pages for myself. I kinda have a lot done but none finished completely. Yeah, I’ve been jumping around. I have so many ideas buzzing around in my head that I can’t seem to calm down enough to finish at least one. I’m so afraid I’ll forget my idea, even if I write it down, that I just have to at least start it. At least the creative juices are flowing again. Boy, for awhile there I was beginning to think I was never going to get it back. It was a loooong dry spell, I tell ya!
Logan is playing bassoon in the orchestra pit for the school play this week. We are going tonight to see it. Can’t wait. He even has a solo… very cool. The music teacher selected 12 kids from the band for this job. Logan was one of the lucky ones. It’s exhausting. He has to get up at 5 am to get ready for school. He’s been so busy practicing for this and all his other activities that he has’t been getting home until 10pm or so for the past several weeks. Poor thing has circles under his eyes. The boys are on spring break next week so I’m sure Logan will sleep in and catch up.
I have one layout to share today. I love the patterned background paper. It’s from MME and it has glitter on it, although I don’t think you can really tell from this pix. I love their stuff. I saved this sheet of paper for something special. Photo is me and the boys when Nate was home for spring break. It was the best of the worst… KWIM… look at Phil’s face and you’ll see what I mean. LOL!

Me & My Boys
Thanks for popping by today!
Have a wonderful Thursday! ~Amy Tara~
