Bright and early we’ll be packing the car and heading to the port.  I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and Hanukkah and Kwanzaa – whatever holiday you celebrate!  I hope this time of year fills you with all it’s slendor and magic!

I’ll leave you with a couple of projects.  My last few things that I created using the Create My Keepsake December kit.

Notice the pompoms I used to make the flower.  I cut them off of one of the trims from the kit.

And this one is a quickie I pulled together with a random photo of  Jay and me.

Thanks for stopping by!  Happy Holidays!

That’s how many days until we leave for our Christmas cruise.  Saturday at 5pm we sail out of Port Everglades… on the Statendam.  Yay!  Love those “DAM” ships!

I’ve got a bunch of stuff to share with you today.  I’ve done all my projects with my December kit from Create my Keepsake.  It was a fun kit.  I totally love the Urban Prairie papers that were included as well as the pompom trim.  Isn’t that stuff fun!

The lights are up!

Yay us!  WE (me and Jay) hung the icicle lights around the house today.  I just love those darn things.  Makes my house look like a little gingerbread house.  The dormer windows and the porches always look cool with the lights.  I’ll try to get a pix later on when it’s very dark out so the lights will show up.  We aren’t putting up our tree this year since we will be gone for Christmas.  We’re letting Holland America Line do the decorating for us!  LOL!  I did put my wreath on the front door and I will take out our antique ceramic lighted tree and the butterfly Santa that Jay got for me last year.  He is absolutely my favorite Christmas piece to date!  Someday I’ll get to taking a photo of him too.  I’m just lazy that way I guess.  I think it’s because I don’t have my own (online) computer so I have to unload my camera on my computer, do whatever image software thingy I might want, then flashdrive them over to Jays computer… anyway, it’s extra steps so it’s made me lazy about it.  Heck I haven’t even submitted anything for publication in ages because I just can’t be bothered.  I’m so busy I feel like I can’t get out of my own way sometimes.

Now, all that being said, I would like to share a few projects I made with Jenni Bowlin product.  JB was the monthly sponsor for November over at Create My Keepsake and I was lucky enough to be one of the DT members who got a package to work with.  My banner photos didn’t come out that great, but in person it’s really pretty, if I may say so myself.  So here we go, a few JB goodies:

To glitter my letters I just filled in the letter on the JB card with some glue and then put glass glitter on top of that.  I used a really fine tip paint brush to stay inside the lines and it worked great.

Well, that’s about it for today.  I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

A chilly Wednesday

Wow, it’s quite chilly here this morning.  My ole bones do not like chilly!  Bring me my mid-summer heat and humidity and I am one happy lady!  And today, I woke up to a kitchen counter loaded with ants.  Where the heck did they come from.  Not fun at 4a.m.  Hopefully the ants will be gone soon.  I used some stuff that they supposedly take back to their nest and it gets rid of the entire colony.  Here’s hoping!

On a better note, I posted my first layout from the December kit at CreateMyKeepsake.com  I love the Urban Prairie Basic Grey papers that were included in this kit.  It’s a fun splash of color with Black and White basics.  It’s a pretty shabby layout, very distressed.  Seems to be the kind of thing I do when Nathaniel is in the photo… once you see what he looks like you’ll understand.  I don’t know where my book nerd preppy style boy went.  Since he went away to college he’s decided long hair and a beard is his thing.  Blech!  But, it’s his life and so not worth arguing over.  Anyway, here’s my layout.  Note the extra photos show close ups of the “buttons”.  I made them using the rubons adhered to some scrap cardstock, poked the button holes through, then covered them with diamond glaze for dimension.

Don’t you just love that pompom trim… can’t seem to get enough of this stuff lately!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!  Keep warm!
